Our Story

OCI was founded in 2002 with the goal of helping brokers navigate the dynamic world of insurance and employee benefits. A family-owned general agency based out of Omaha, Nebraska, OCI helps brokers from California to Florida and everywhere in between. Since its inception, OCI has remained steadfast in the pursuit of helping agents be successful and continues to thrive now more than ever.

People often ask what OCI stands for and the answer is: Insurance Made Simple. While, that may not have anything to do with the three letters of the name it does have everything to do with what the company stands for. OCI works with agents and brokers to provide information, assistance, and answers, always keeping up to date on the ever changing matrix of products and services that make up the insurance and employee benefit industries. With well over 100 years of combined expertise, OCI has seen the insurance marketplace change and evolve. Insurance can mean a lot of things, so whether it’s health, life, income replacement, long term care or annuities; OCI has the best products to help you meet the needs of your clients. While product is important, it’s the “Insurance Made Simple” philosophy that advisors, agencies, broker dealers & captive companies have come to realize makes OCI a disrupter in the industry. It’s a new way of doing business that the industry has been waiting for.

Through a partnership with OCI, brokers find an unparalleled level of assistance. OCI works with brokers at all levels and is able to provide what is needed in a timely manner. Customer service is priority number one and having somewhere to turn to with questions and issues makes OCI the type of general agency that agents and brokers appreciate.

The OCI staff is committed to the advancement of the professionalism within the insurance and financial services industry. To achieve this, the entire staff is encouraged to become a licensed agent and be active members of the professional associations within the industry. The OCI staff currently has active members on the governing boards for the local, state, and national levels of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) as well as representation on the NAHU (National Association of Health Underwriters) state and local boards in Nebraska. OCI strongly believes that representation in the industry’s professional associations sets it apart from others because it provides a platform to advocate on behalf of the professional agents that OCI works with.

Our Community Involvement

OCI is dedicated not only to service to our brokers but also serving in our community. Our staff contributes more than 500 hours of volunteer work per year helping local charities and organizations.
